What "glow peptide" names, and what it does not
"Glow peptide" is a name for a vial, not for a compound. The vial holds three separate synthetic peptides freeze-dried together: GHK-Cu (the copper tripeptide, 340 Da as the bare peptide), BPC 157 (fifteen residues, 1,419 Da) and TB-500 (the seven-residue thymosin beta-4 fragment, 889 Da). Because GLOW is a marketing name and not a chemical one, the ratio between the three is whatever the seller decided, and two vials labelled GLOW from two sellers can hold different amounts of each component. LabFirst's vial is 70 mg in total; the component breakdown is on the lot certificate, which is the only place it can honestly live.
That is the whole difficulty with buying a blend, and it is worth stating plainly. A single-compound vial has one mass to confirm and one purity to report. A three-compound vial has three masses to confirm, three purities to report and three net contents to add up to the label, and a certificate that shrinks that to one line ("GLOW, 99%") has measured nothing a buyer can use. GHK-Cu gives the powder its colour: a GLOW vial is blue-violet, and dissolves blue, because the copper complex is in it. A white GLOW cake is missing its first ingredient, and no certificate is needed to see it.
The three components have separate research records, all of it cell and animal work, and the papers cited at the foot of this page describe each of them individually; nothing has been published on the three together, and nothing here describes any use. What a buyer can act on is that each component is a known molecule with a known mass, and a laboratory can find all three in one vial if it is asked to.
There is no single molecule to weigh. The volume tiers are per size, not per basket: ten vials of one size take 10% off that line and twenty take 15%, and mixed sizes do not combine. Shipping is a flat $15 on orders under $200 and free from $200, within the United States only, with same-day dispatch on orders placed before 12 PM Pacific on a business day. The cost per mg tool runs the same comparison across any two listings, ours or anyone else's.
A blend is priced by its most expensive component, and in GLOW that is BPC 157 by a wide margin; GHK-Cu and TB-500 are cheap to make. So the per-milligram price of a GLOW vial depends almost entirely on how many of its 70 mg are BPC 157, which is precisely the number most listings leave out. A GLOW vial that is mostly GHK-Cu costs little to make and can be sold cheaply; one with a large BPC 157 share cannot. Two GLOW listings at different prices are only comparable when both breakdowns are known, and usually neither is.
The honest comparison for a laboratory that needs known amounts of the three is the three single-compound vials, each with its own certificate, against the blend with a component breakdown. LabFirst lists all three individually and the blend, so the arithmetic can be done on one page with the cost per mg tool. Where the blend wins it is on the vial and the test, since one vial and one laboratory run cover three compounds; where it loses is on control, since the ratio is fixed by the seller rather than the laboratory.
The certificate a GLOW lot must carry
Three tests answer three different questions, and a certificate of analysis for GLOW is only complete when it carries all three for the exact lot on the vial. Identity for a blend means one confirmed mass per component: GHK-Cu at 340.186 Da, BPC 157 at 1418.704 Da, TB-500 at 888.492 Da. A single mass for the vial is not an identity result.
Purity is a separate question, answered by HPLC: how much of what came off the column was the compound. The figure is only interpretable with its method beside it (column, gradient, detection wavelength) and a date, which is what ICH Q2(R2) means when it asks that an analytical procedure be shown fit for its purpose. A percentage with no method and no date is a number somebody typed, and a certificate that carries every test but for a different lot number than the vial is the most common failure of all and the easiest to catch. Net content is the third test and the one most often missing: the milligrams of GLOW actually in the vial, measured, against the size printed on the label.
A GLOW certificate is three certificates on one page. Identity means three observed masses: 340.19 Da (or 402.11 Da for the copper complex) for GHK-Cu, 1418.70 Da for BPC 157 and 888.49 Da for TB-500, each within instrument tolerance of its theoretical value. A deconvoluted spectrum of the vial shows three peaks; a certificate that prints one mass has identified one component and assumed the other two. Copper needs its own line, as with any GHK-Cu product, because the ratio of copper to peptide is what separates the complex from peptide with a pinch of copper salt.
Purity is reported per component from the same HPLC run, since the three peptides separate cleanly on a reversed-phase column: the tripeptide runs first, TB-500 next, BPC 157 last. The number that decides whether a blend was worth buying is net content per component in milligrams, adding up to the 70 mg on the label. Without that breakdown there is no price per milligram of anything, only a price per vial of an unknown mixture. Ask for the breakdown before the price; a seller who has it will show it, and one who does not cannot be compared with anyone, at any price.
Where to buy GLOW: five checks before you order from anyone
Every seller of glow peptide says "third-party tested". The phrase costs nothing. These five checks take about four minutes per listing and separate a tested lot from a tested-sounding one.
- The lot on the vial is the lot on the certificate. Read the printed lot number, then open the certificate and match it. A certificate for "GLOW" with no lot, or a lot that does not match, describes some other vial.
- The laboratory is named and has its own lookup. The report should come from a laboratory the seller does not own, with a search code you can enter on the laboratory's own site. LabFirst lots are tested by Freedom Diagnostics and looked up by accession number; anything that can only be verified on the seller's own page has not been verified.
- The theoretical mass is printed, and it is the right one. For GLOW that means one mass per component.
- Purity has a method and a date. An HPLC percentage should name the method and the run date. A figure that reads "99%+" with neither, or one date reused across every product a seller lists, is decoration.
- Net content is stated in milligrams. The label size is a claim; the certificate's net content is the measurement. If the certificate has no net content line, the purity figure describes the powder, not the vial, and the price per mg you calculated is fiction.
How listings for GLOW specifically mislead:
- "GLOW 70 mg" with no component breakdown. Seventy milligrams of what, in what ratio, is the entire product; without it the listing describes a vial, not a compound.
- One purity figure for the vial. Three peptides in one cake need three masses, three purities and three contents; a single "99%" cannot have measured any of them.
- A white or colourless GLOW product. GHK-Cu is blue-violet and dissolves blue; a GLOW cake without that colour is missing its copper, its GHK-Cu, or both.
- Per-milligram price comparisons between GLOW listings with different ratios. The BPC 157 share sets the cost; comparing two unknown ratios per milligram compares nothing.
How to verify a LabFirst GLOW lot

Storage and shipping for GLOW
A blend is stored to suit its most demanding component, and in GLOW that is GHK-Cu: the copper complex is hygroscopic and its coordination is sensitive to water and to chelating buffers, while BPC 157 and TB-500 are comparatively robust powders. Sealed and refrigerated at 2 to 8 C, out of light, the cake keeps its blue-violet colour and its weight; a cake that has gone green, brown or damp has taken on water through the copper. Open a vial once, for its purpose, and never re-seal one for storage. In solution the copper binds phosphate and EDTA, so the solvent is chosen for the copper, the solution is dated, and the laboratory keeps its own stability record; no label can carry that.

- the date received and the condition of the seal;
- the storage location and temperature it went into;
- the number of vials, and later the date each one was opened and by whom.
A GLOW vial with that record behind it can be traced from the bench to the laboratory report in one step; without it, the certificate is a document about a vial that can no longer be identified.
Regulatory status, and what this page is not
No approved medicine contains GLOW, and no monograph could, since the blend has no fixed composition. Each component has its own position: GHK-Cu, BPC 157 and the TB-500 fragment were all placed in Category 2 of the FDA's interim 503A bulk substances list in September 2023, the category for substances the agency identified as raising significant safety risks, which bars licensed pharmacies from compounding with them; BPC 157's entry has since moved for advisory committee review. Those listings concern pharmacies and say nothing about laboratory material. They are quoted because "pharmaceutical grade GLOW" appears in listings, and no component of it can be any grade.
