Verifying the document at the laboratory

Everything above concerns reading the document. This section concerns believing it, and the two are different exercises.

A certificate PDF hosted on a seller's website, or emailed by the seller, is the seller's claim, whoever's letterhead is on it. Documents are easy to edit and templates easy to reuse. Verification means going around the seller to the laboratory named on the certificate.

The sequence is short. Second, check accreditation where it is claimed.
