Tesamorelin is the full 44-residue human GHRH sequence, amidated at the C-terminus, with one addition: a trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminal tyrosine that protects the chain from the enzyme that clips native GHRH. Theratechnologies developed it under the code TH9507; formula C221H366N72O67S, average mass 5,135.9 Da, supplied as the acetate. Listings write tesamorelin, tesamorelin acetate, tesamorelin peptide and TH9507. It is the longest GHRH-family peptide in the catalogue, fifteen residues longer than sermorelin and Mod GRF, and correspondingly more expensive to make and to characterise.
An approved medicine, Egrifta, contains tesamorelin. The research vial is not that product. Egrifta is manufactured under an approval to a specification and released against it; a research vial is a synthetic peptide with the same sequence sold as laboratory material and standing on its lot certificate. No equivalence is claimed here and none is possible from a certificate, which measures a lot and not a manufacturing process. Sellers who write "same as Egrifta" are borrowing a reputation the powder has not earned.
