What is DSIP, and what is it used for?
DSIP is also listed and searched as Delta sleep-inducing peptide, DSIP peptide. They all mean the same compound. Supplier lists write it as DSIP peptides or peptide DSIP as well; every one of those is this record. A name is not a test, which is why the lot record further down counts for more than the wording on a label.
Chemically: molecular formula C35H48N10O15, average mass 848.8 g/mol (PubChem CID 68816). Those figures are what the identity test on a certificate is read against.
Delta sleep-inducing peptide, a man-made peptide nine building blocks long.
Not established. The peptide was named for something noticed in early animal work, not for a receptor anyone has found, and no target has ever been confirmed.
A small and largely historical body of animal work, much of it decades old.
No approved product, no confirmed receptor, and a name that describes an early observation rather than a demonstrated mechanism. The research is thin and old, and that is the most important thing to know about it.

Where to get DSIP, and how to buy DSIP online
DSIP for sale, or DSIP peptide for sale, means this page: one record, 2 sizes. You can buy DSIP online here with guest checkout, and purchase DSIP or order DSIP in any size below; verified in-stock orders placed before 12 PM Pacific are dispatched the same day. A DSIP supplier, vendor or source worth using will show you the lot number and where its certificate can be verified.
Before ordering DSIP from anyone, us included, run the 5 checks on verifying a certificate; the first is that the report resolves on the laboratory's own site, and a seller who cannot pass them is asking for the trust a certificate exists to replace.
DSIP reviews
No customer review of DSIP has been published yet, so there is no star rating here; when real ones exist the number will be the arithmetic of what people wrote. Ordered this record? Leave a review. A person reads every one before it appears.
DSIP nasal spray, oral form or capsules? What this vial is, and is not
Search results for DSIP also show nasal spray, oral form, capsules products, under listing titles such as dsip nasal spray, dsip peptide nasal spray, dsip spray, dsip peptide oral, dsip capsules, dsip nasal. Those are finished consumer goods made and marketed by other companies, and none of them is what this page sells. This record is freeze-dried DSIP in a sealed glass vial, 5mg and 10mg, with a lot certificate, supplied for laboratory work. Its certificate describes that powder, not a capsule, spray or cream, which carry other ingredients and sit under different rules.

The DSIP certificate: lot, purity, identity, and how to verify it
A certificate answers identity, purity and net content as three separate questions, each with the method that produced it and the date it was run, how to read one covers what each field does and does not cover. For DSIP that means a mass spectrum landing on 848.8 g/mol for C35H48N10O15, the figure published against PubChem CID 68816. The cataloged form is Delta sleep-inducing peptide, and the identity test resolves to that rather than to a related molecule with a similar name.
Listings elsewhere describe DSIP as an acetate, an arginate salt or an N-acetyl form. Those are different chemical forms with different masses, and a certificate identifies which one was actually tested. The form of the lot on this page is whatever its certificate states; it is not assumed from a listing name, ours included.

Testing by Kovera Labs. Every batch tested on or after October 1, 2026 includes endotoxin, sterility and fentanyl screening, in addition to identity, purity and net content. Open the report, then confirm it on the issuing laboratory's own site. If the identifier does not resolve there, or resolves to a different lot than the one printed on your vial, the document is worthless however convincing it looks.

The lot number on the certificate must match the lot printed on the vial you received. That match is the only thing tying the document to your material. Net content is reported separately from purity, because a vial can be highly pure and still hold less material than its label states.

It is sold as laboratory material under the research-use restriction below. Being listed is not an approval, and not a claim that it is safe, effective or right for any purpose.
DSIP research: what the published studies examine
Status: No FDA-approved application. This compound is sold as laboratory material. Where research on it has been published, it sits at the animal, cell or early-human stage, and this record does not summarize what it found. A supplier is not a neutral judge of evidence about its own catalog.
DSIP is a nine-building-block peptide, pulled in 1977 from the blood leaving the brains of rabbits that were being stimulated into sleep. It was named for what it appeared to do rather than for how it worked, and the name has lasted in a way the evidence has not. The honest statement is that there is no established mechanism. No gene for it has been found, no parent protein it comes from has been identified, and no receptor has ever been located.
Its shape resembles no other known peptide family, and it disappears from blood unusually fast. Anything written about how DSIP works, including what suppliers circulate, is guesswork from its behavioral effects rather than a description of a known pathway.
| Reported observation | Model | Source |
|---|---|---|
| The original discovery. A peptide that increased slow brainwave and spindle patterns after being infused into the brain’s fluid spaces was isolated from rabbits and its sequence worked out. Of nine peptides tested, DSIP itself plus five possible breakdown fragments, two altered versions and a related short peptide, only man-made DSIP produced a significant increase in those patterns, across 58 rabbits under double-blind conditions. | rabbits, intraventricular infusion, EEG spectral analysis | Schoenenberger and Monnier, Characterization of a delta-electroencephalogram (-sleep)-inducing peptide, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (1977)Infusion was directly into the cerebral ventricles, which bypasses every barrier a peripherally administered peptide would meet. |
| A review titled "a still unresolved riddle" concludes that the link between DSIP and sleep was never worked out further, that the idea of DSIP as a sleep factor is very poorly documented and still weak, and that where it comes from and what it does biologically remain obscure. The authors note that significant slow-wave-sleep activity was found for certain artificial look-alikes of DSIP but specifically not for DSIP itself, and suggest a different DSIP-like peptide may account for what was observed. | review of the accumulated literature | Kovalzon and Strekalova, Delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP): a still unresolved riddle, Journal of Neurochemistry (2006)The parenthetical in the source is emphatic: the analogues worked and DSIP itself did not. |
Open questions. This is the weakest evidence base in the catalog and the page should not pretend otherwise. Three problems stack up. The founding result infused the peptide directly into the fluid spaces of the brain, so it says nothing about what happens by any other route. No gene, parent protein or receptor has ever been identified, which is remarkable for a peptide studied for nearly fifty years and is the main reason the field moved on.
And a review by researchers sympathetic to the compound found the sleep activity showing up in artificial look-alikes rather than in DSIP itself, and called the sleep idea poorly documented and weak. DSIP is sold widely on the strength of its name. That name was handed out in 1977 on the basis of one rabbit experiment, and it has outlived the evidence that produced it.
Each row above describes an observation in the stated model. None of it describes what DSIP would do in a person or an animal outside that model, and none of it is a recommendation to use it for anything.
How to store DSIP: refrigeration and shelf life
Keep the sealed vial cold and out of the light and it stays as it left the lab. Once it is mixed into a solution, how long it holds up depends on the compound, what it was mixed with, how strong the solution is and how cold it is kept — too many variables for anyone to print one shelf life on a label. So laboratories write the date on whatever they prepare and keep their own record of it.
For solution preparation arithmetic on the bench, concentration, per-graduation values and molarity, use the vial concentration calculator, which opens with the DSIP sizes stocked here already loaded. It covers laboratory measurement only and contains no administration guidance.
